I love this video and how Fox News' O'Reilly went appeplectic when he discussed this "invasion of transvestites" to a Catholic church in San Francisco. 

Read the lips of the guy at 1:36. He did not seem too upset about having the sisters take communion.

Complicated yes, but now Engaged.

Many of us first notice the change in her facebook profile when her "Relationship Status:" went from "Single" to "Engaged."

What best describes our relationshp now? “Complicated”? Maybe before, but not now (well - there are still complications but those can be remedied). “In a Relationship”? It doesn’t adequately describe the level of commitment we’ve both expressed to one another. “Married”? Not legally. Not yet. “Engaged?” In our world that means a lifetime of singular devoted and commitment. We’ve both exchanged rings so, traditionally, that would apply.  It’s as accurate a label as any.

I could not be happier for them!

Charlotte Goiar (1972 - ) HBS activist.

Charlotte is a Barcelona resident and a licensed Human Rights Investigator. She is the person who developed theconcept of Síndrome de Harry Benjamin, and in 2005 founded the first HBS organization.

She maintains that HBS is an intersex condition developed in the early stages of foetal development, and that an HBS woman is not a transsexual. She is further contentious in that she and her movement has become known for its disparaging of other transgendered persons, even post-ops, and GLBT persons in general.

She dislikes the Press-For-Change leadership, in that the UK Gender Recognition Actallows for non-ops and other transsexuals whom Charlotte would not regard as HBS, and has a similar opinion of Carla Antonelli who worked for the similar Gender Identity Law in Spain.

Lynn Conway, Andrea James, Calperina Addams and Marci Bowers are also disparaged on her forum in that they not anti-transgender. Charlotte has approved of the situation for transsexuals in Iran. She regards the term ‘transsexuality’ as pejorative in that she takes it to imply a choice.

Some HBS activists have since split with her.

Charlotte sometimes uses the name Charlotte T. Guren, and wrote to Laura Amato that Guren was the name to be used, but SHB-Info.Org still calls her Goiar, and she had a Myspace page as Goiar until early 2009.

It took a lot of Googling to find anything more about Karis. For someone as stunning has him, I would think he would be easy to find, but no.

Behind The Phillips Satinelle Ice Ad: Karis Speaks

When we first saw the ad for the Phillips Satinelle Ice, we were excited: finally! An ad that treats a transperson as a real person, not just the punchline to a joke or a visual gag! Then were were confused: why were people across the internet referring to this ad as the story of a transvestite? Finally, we were curious: who was this anonymous dancer, and what was his story? Was he (or she) a drag queen, a transsexual — or something else entirely? We just had to find out.

Thankfully, through the magic of the internet (and the help of the kind folks at DDB), we were able to get in touch with Karis, the dancer and hula hoop performer (previously featured in the video for the Scissor Sisters’ “Filthy Gorgeous“) who was the center of all the hubbub. We asked him a little about who he is, why he did the ad, and what the experience has been like — and here’s what he had to say.

First of all, thank you for taking the time for this interview.
Well, I think everyone’s being misled about my life, so it’s my pleasure.

What do you mean by misled?
I first of all don’t identify as a tranny, or transsexual. For the commercial I wore breasts, and I knew it was going to come back to me, but it was so groundbreaking that I was happy to do it. Honestly, I like to think that I can change myself and be however I’m comfortable. I’m a little tranny… I’m all of those things. But people told me that I was being quoted as saying that I’m a transvestite — I’m not. If that’s what’s safe for you, it’s fine to label me that way, but don’t quote me.

So how do you identify yourself?
I’m so comfortable being myself, I’ve just never questioned. I love the whole androgyny thing, though, if that’s even a category. I’m a man, and I do love being a man, and would never want to change that – but I also have my days where I love getting dressed up and just being fierce.

The one really great thing about this ad – well, there are a lot of great things – but for me, now I can speak about how there are just so many more avenues than just tranny or gay boy. It’s nice to be able to educate people that there are more avenues.

Do you identify as gay?
I like to think that I’m more evolved, and that things are more liquid, but I am primarily gay.

What was it like to work with DDB, the company that created the ad?
They have been the most wonderful and gentle people. They have been so interested in learning about gender and sexuality issues. They have been so fabulous – I could not ask for a better crew of people.

How do you feel watching the ad now?
It’s weird knowing that that’s me. I know it’s supposed to be a take on my life, and they did use a lot of components of my life – my massage parlor, my nail salon – overall, I’m happy with it. I love doing things that challenge and educate. I’ve gotten so many emails from trannies saying that they never thought they’d see something like this in their lifetime – and that lone is worth all the trouble. It’s a shame that it’ll never air in the states – but thank god for the internet.

Although I know he says he is a "primarily gay" man, I wonder how long before before he wishs to become more, and starts to transition.  Not long, I bet, but how knows.

Now, they are demanding the same rights of heterosexuals – the right to fail in marriage

My fellow defenders of traditional American values, for years we have seen the slow disintegration of our standards, ground down by an “anything goes” society. Many of us have sat by and watched it happen, figuring that we could do little to stop it. But now I, for one, can remain silent no longer. It’s time to stand up to the wreckers of our moral codes.

A new assault has been raised upon one of our most cherished traditions. If this bastion falls, we could be facing the final collapse of American society.

During the past few years, thousands of gay couples have married or formed legally equivalent civil unions in places like Massachusetts, Vermont and California. But many of those newlyweds didn’t stay put; they fanned out to other states. Now, even as rallies to promote gay marriage are scheduled elsewhere, those legally committed couples are taking advantage of the continuing furor over marriage itself to stage an insidious attack on another fundamental institution.

They must be exposed and stopped, else our nation may lapse at last into chaos, as the televangelists have been predicting every two weeks for decades.

Hillary and Julie Goodridge were the lesbian couple behind the landmark case that persuaded the Massachusetts Supreme Court to declare gay marriage legal there in 2003. Now they are claiming, in a travesty of a straight break-up, that their relationships just “didn’t work out.” They’re filing for divorce.

My friends, this cannot be borne. Who do they think they are, wanting to end their relationships like other people?

We must stand up and say no! Join me in the fight to preserve the sanctity of heterosexual divorce.

We must never allow that solemn ritual, the deep and lasting feeling engendered by divorce, to be rendered meaningless by diluting it among gay couples.

There’s also the burden on others’ consciences to consider. Will divorce lawyers be forced to take fees against their will? We cannot allow jackbooted court bailiffs to force attorneys to hold out their hands for cash and checks from gay former couples. No lawyer should be made to violate his or her personal moral code by accepting money.

Sorry, Hillary and Julie, you’re stuck as you are. You should have thought of this before you entered so lightly into the multi-year legal fight to get your marriage accepted. For thousands of years, millions of mixed-sex couples have been trapped in loveless, abusive or enforced marriages – what makes you so special?

Of course, homosexual activists will argue that they’re not seeking a special right to divorce. They’re only asking for what straight couples have had for years.

I say that’s hogwash. Gays already have equal rights – they’re free to divorce people of the opposite sex, just like everyone else.

Yet now they claim to have the same disagreements over money, careers and child-raising that straight couples have. Nonsense, I say; don’t fall for that. Courts and state legislatures should decide that same-sex divorces are invalid.

My call has been anticipated. States as diverse as Texas and Rhode Island are courageously standing up to ban gay divorce. But not all are so sensible; it shouldn’t be surprising that Iowa, a notorious sink of iniquity, has allowed a gay marriage to dissolve. New Jersey is on that path, too.

I propose a federal Defense of Divorce Act to preempt this terrible dilemma. That would be only the first step, a public call to arms. The Defense of Divorce Act would be the precursor to a permanent and comprehensive solution, which will re-establish divorce as it has always been.

We must organize to promote a Constitutional amendment defining divorce as between one man, one woman, two or more lawyers, a judge, at least one mother-in-law, a pack of shiftless friends, a nosy neighbor and as many other people and possessions as they can drag into it.

Should we fail, the consequences will be dire. Our slide down the slippery slope will accelerate. Next thing you know, perverts will start wanting to divorce their siblings, children and pets.

Dare I look further? Unless this mockery of traditional divorce is stopped before it starts, I predict we’ll soon find another time-honored institution targeted by the homosexual agenda. Before you know it, they’ll demand an equal share of adultery, too.

It would be a tragedy indeed if extramarital affairs are rendered meaningless by letting gay couples cheat on their spouses. Not the least factor to consider is the long historic tradition of adultery. Think how much of European royal history – just to choose a commonplace example – would be affected. Homosexuals weren’t content with King Richard the Lionhearted and Frederick the Great; now they’re going after Henry VIII, and mark my words, they won’t be satisfied until they can claim a share of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine as well.

It all comes down to defending our values. Adultery is a special thing between a man and a woman, not to be shared indiscriminately.

If we let married homosexuals join heterosexuals in mutual infidelity, the result will be to ruin it for everyone. What value will cheating on a spouse have if you know that everyone’s doing it?
