What changed for you in 2006?

I posted this at Beginning Life. I should probably have more items, but this is all I came up with at the time.

  • Saw a doctor for hormones. (I did it with mail order before.)
  • Started electrolysis.
  • Went out into the real world as Vickie and passed. (Thank you Melissa.)
  • Purchased a new red 2007 Saturn ION Coupe. (First new car for me in 30 years.)
  • Went out regularly with out a wig. (Now I have to learn how to do my hair! Embarassed)
  • Lost over 35 lbs. (I went from almost 170 lbs down to 131.6 lbs on December 31, 2006.)
  • Started getting "Mame 'd" in boy mode.

Anna by Venus deMars

This is one of my new favorite songs! Venus is addressing a transsexual she met years ago, but has lost contact with her.

The questions just tear me up.

This is the Venus deMars
(http://www.venusdemars.com/) of the "Venus of Mars" Documentary of a transsexual punk rocker and her supportive wife. I finely purchased the DVD and I love it. Click here for Venus' site.
Is it obvious that I love Venus. :)

Anna

Anna
Can you here me?
I remember
That I met you
Back in New York City

5 years
Maybe 6 years
And I wonder
If your dreaming
All those dreams you told me?

Anna
Are you listening?
How much distance
Have you traveled
And has it unraveled?

I am thinking
Maybe always
Maybe never
And the time
Can bring damage and anger

Anna
I wonder
Are you working?
And the pay was it worth all your courage?

It takes you
And can break you
Without warning
And the rage
And your memories age you

Anna
I remember
When you sang
That your voice
Was so deep and reflective

And you told me
I remember
In your past
Your were
Always the stranger

Listen to Kevin Reevees' "Afraid and Alone" on MySpace

I love this song!

Listen to "Afraid and Alone" by Kevin Reevees on his MySpace page:

http://www.myspace.com/kevinreevesmusic.

I heard it on Controversial Conversations #005 podcast, and loved it immediately.

Here is his website where you can get mp3's of his songs. http://www.kevinreeves.net/ He emails them out after you order them.

He wrote me the following:
I play every Friday and Saturday night at the Flying Horse in Franklin, Tennessee from 6-30 to 8-30 P.M., and will begin playing on Wednesday nights at Big Tony's in the food Lion plaza in Nashville from 7 to 9 P.M.

I hope to make it to one of his shows soon, but my work schedule gets in the way.

Does anyone know who these girls are?

There was so much controversy about these two girls. I sure could tell they were in love with each other, but so many could not agree about there gender. I was told by someone who had dinner with them that the one on the left is TS and the other is GG, but not many agreeded.

I took their picture and gave them my card with my email address, so I could send them the picture, but still no reply.

Write me you two. I think you were so great now matter what gender you are. I say you both are women!

I met finely Renee Reyes

I wrote her earlier this year to introduce myself:

I saw you at last year's SCC and all I could do is stare. You looked so great. It is not that often that I see some one that I have seen and read their website. I think you realized that I was too shy to introduce myself. You squeezed my hand one time, as I walked by at one of the dinners. I have to thank you for that. Probably it was at the dinner where I took the one picture, I got of you. I am too shy to impose myself on folks and ask to take their picture. Then later I always regret not taking the picture. I hope to do better this year.

She wrote back and remembered me when I saw her at SCC and insisted we take this picture. Thanks Renee (and sorry about the red eye!)

"Dear Mr. President" (Pink featuring Indigo Girls)

I heard this song on the Tranny Wreck pod cast, and bought it on iTunes right away. It is powerful.

"Dear Mr. President"
(Pink featuring Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why

Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pay the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh

How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you
